Intrinsic Biomechanics

About Biomechanics Coaching
Research in the field of Biomechanics is becoming increasingly more important across all aspects of modern living. Poor movement patterns are very often cause of pain and injury amongst the general population. It is also the main reason behind poor performance and restricted movement in the sporting community. The positive effects of biomechanics training programmes are being reported across a variety of groups, from office workers to elite sporting individuals.
1. Normalise

This first phase focuses on correcting dysfunctions in your pelvis, spine and nervous system. Each client will take part in a series of screening assessments to identify any weakness and discrepancies. Exercises are then prescribed to re-align and re-balance your body's mechanical system.

2. Stabilise

Once your Biomechanical system is working efficiently you will be ready to start working on your core.
This phase will consider and address weaknesses in your core stability. Further exercises will be prescribed to compliment the work that you have put in during the normalise phase.

3. Functionalise

The final phase will focus on the function of your feet, knees, and shoulders. Your exercise programme will be adjusted to ensure that you become fit for purpose and able to sustain your fitness and wellbeing goals.

The Biomechanical model was created by Chartered Therapist Martin Haines. Martins team performed biomechanical tests on over 4000 people, all from different age ranges and sporting abilities. They identified manual tests which correlated highest with gold standard test performed in a laboratory.
Martin developed the biomechanical screening process to help eradicate and mechanical weakness in order to reduce the risk of injury and improve functional performance. Martins results complimented research done by world renowned researches including Professors Stuart McGill, Serge Gracovetsky, Tworney, Tayor and Nick Barrow.
Biomechanics Assessment and Treatment: First session - biomechanics screening, sports massage (where applicable) and corrective exercises £85

Follow up sessions - may include re- screen, sports massage, mobilisation and the application of kinesiology tape (if applicacble) £65
Biomechanics coaching uses a simple and logical screening process to detect abnormalities and weaknesses in the body's intrinsic movement.
The result of the screening assessment will determine which corrective exercises are prescribed in order to realign and rebalance the body.
From professional athletes and keen sports enthusiasts to more sedentary individuals, biomechanical factors can have a major impact on the likelihood of injury.
